Learning to Sew - Beginner Series #2 - Prelude to Your First Project - with Jessy at East Lansing
So, you know how to operate your sewing machine now, you've managed to do some simple sewing, and now you want to try your very first garment. You buy a pattern and open it up, and you're lost. Well, have no fear! We've got you covered.
This class is a prelude to the next class in the series which offers a choice between sewing Pants No. 1 or Shirt No. 1. We would like participants to also purchase one these patterns for this class if you do not already own it. Please contact us if you would like to come with a different pattern option.
This class will teach you:
- Pattern selection
- Selecting the right size
- Fabric choosing
- Notions needed
- Pattern tracing
- Reading the pattern
- Marking tools for paper (marker/pen/pencil) - provided
- paper scissors
- ruler (our favorite is 3"x12" or 6"x24" clear
- Pattern for Shirt No. 1 or Pants No. 1 by 100 Acts of Sewing (can be purchased at 10% discount if selected as an add-on with your class!)
