Custom Fit Bodice with Beth Smith in East Lansing

Using the pattern Woven Essentials from Allison Glass students will learn to fit a basic, two dart, back zip bodice. Beth will teach students how to adjust the fit of the basic block to flatter their individual bodies.
Students must arrive at class with a rough sewn bodice ready to be fitted. This should have the center seam cut on the fold and a back zipper since it will be tried on multiple times during class. The practice bodice should be made from light colored solid or near solid woven fabric. If students need a teacher's assistance to complete this rough bodice our Wednesday afternoon drop-in sewing help would be a perfect class for that.
Students should bring enough additional ;ight colored woven fabric to sew a second bodice during class just in case that's necessary for a good fit, as well as fabric scissors, safety pins and a marker. Also a clear ruler would be helpful.
Beth will bring some of the custom dresses that she's created as part of her custom clothing company Beth Smith Textiles as examples of how the tailored block can be used in future projects as inspiration.
